How to repair the broken base of the office chair

June 19th at 2:57pm

Place the office chair on a level ground and ensure its stability. Use a screwdriver or other tool to remove the base fixing under the seat.

If the base is damaged, it may be necessary to replace parts such as lifting rods or cylinders. For the replacement of the lifting rod, a hammer or rubber hammer can be used to strike along the bottom steel ring of the chair to remove the base. After disassembly, check the hydraulic top rod and upper seat. It may be necessary to use a hammer to strike the metal floor plate for disassembly.

If the problem lies with the cylinder, the existing cylinder needs to be deleted. Before deleting, ensure that the cylinder tube is closed and then release the cylinder. If it cannot be removed at once, you can try repeatedly until the cylinder comes off. Be careful not to forcefully remove it to avoid damaging other components.

Purchase a replacement cylinder of the appropriate size and install it correctly according to the manufacturer's user manual. Ensure that all small parts (such as nuts) are correctly reinstalled in their original positions.

Reassemble the chair and test the seat height and gas cylinder for proper operation.

When carrying out these steps, be careful and avoid using excessive force to avoid further damage. If unsure how to perform repairs, it is recommended to contact a professional repair service or manufacturer for assistance.
